Welcome to O’Mati House, your guest house in the Sun !

Located in Hiva Oa, island elected last home of our famous Brel and Gauguin, prestigious artists of great renown, O’Mati House welcomes you in the middle of Ta’aoa, this sunny valley 7km and 10 minutes by car from the main village of Atuona.

Its restful and calm setting is ideal after a folklore day of discovery and exploration of the wonders of our beautiful Marquesan cultural heritage.

Open from 6:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. and from 2 p.m to 8:30 p.m., your tourist accommodation offers overnight accommodation in a guest room, transfer from the airport to the house and back, breakfast and dinner with half board, as well as a laundry service.

The Lodge has 4 double bedrooms and a capacity of 8 adults, with the possibility of adding a child’s bed per bedroom, so a total of 8 adults and 4 children.

The rooms are air-conditioned and Wifi is included in the service. Bed linen and towels are placed in the rooms at the beginning of the stay. A bottle of water and soap are offered with each new entry. The bathroom and the 2 toilets are shared by all guests.

Meals are balanced and plentiful, both for breakfast ans dinner, and are served in the restaurant are of the House.

Breakfast consists of a hot drink of your choice (coffee, milk, tea, chocolate), a dairy product (cheese or yogurt), toast and/or pastries (baguette or toast/pain au chocolat or croissant), butter, jam, local honey, eggs on demand, if available raw fish and fruits.

The dinner on the daily menu consists of a starter, a main course and a dessert.

A free car shuttle is offered to guests between the house and the village of Atuona.

Finally, you can see that the Ta’aoa Valley is full of very rich heritage resources, speaking of the famous “UPEKE” ceremonial site, one of the largest “mara’e” in Polynesia, which covers 2,6km². The visit to the Church of Notre Dame du Sacré-coeur, built in the 19th century, is interesting. All made of stone, which gives it its authentic and historic appearance, she overlooks the Beach of Ta’aoa, a 5 minute walk from O’Mati House.

Some hikes are also accessible with a guide, depending on availability.
